 | Featured Restaurant - Chiado |
Once in your life you'll walk into a restaurant that will be the measuring stick for any other restaurant you visit for the rest of your life.
Chiado is this restaurant.
From the second you drive up, there is valet service if you want it, but plenty of parking along College St. if you like.
As you walk in, the warmest fireplace is blasing on your left next to the complimentary coat check. The friendliest staff takes your coat/jacket and walks you to your table.
If you are a seafood eficionado, you'll love the fish and seafood that is flown in from portugal the same day. I happened to have the skate on risotto that was unbelievably fresh and flavourable. My appetizer was tiger shrimp in piri piri sauce. These shrimps were the biggest Ive ever seen served this side of the atlantic. For drinks, there is no North American beverages served here, only Portuguese wine and beer...

Desert was courtesy Matthew Naranjo, one of the waiters there and was a plate of fruits and cheescake with berries and cream that Ive never seen anywhere near the presentation we received. Not sure if it was because I was there, or if they do this kind of service to everyone but it definitely had me floored.
Without a doubt, Chiado is my number 1 restaurant in the city of Toronto. If you want to impress anyone, take them to Chiado. You wont be disappointed. Albino Silva is the artist and Chiado is the canvas...
